2013/2014: Hightide: Queensland Design Now Book and Exhibition. This book, by Jason Bird, is a showcase of the last decade of Queensland product design. Helena’s and my work is represented by the Kantti stool and desk and the i…stool featuring alongside the work of many talented designers. The exhibition featuring the works of the designers runs at Artisan (381 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley) from 31 October 2013 to 8 February 2014.
2012/2013: Instructor on the QUT Furniture Design and Making Course
June 2012: Exhibition ‘ON THE EDGE’ at Hilltop on Tamborine.
Jan 2012: Exhibition ‘Creating Origins: Producing culture through craft’ at Hilltop on Tamborine.
2011 IDEA Awards:
In 2011, the Origins collection and trans-form-it collection were finalists in the IDEA (Interior Design Excellence Awards).
2011 Habitare Interior, Design & Furniture fair in Helsinki
In 2011 a few of my furniture pieces travelled to be part of Helsinki’s Habitare Interiors Fair. The trans-form-it lounge chair and coffee table were part of an international exhibition ‘Multifunctionality’ at the EcoDesign exhibition, and the Juhani chair was featured in the Lapponia House’s new concept CLT mini-house.
2010 Unlimited Asia Pacific Design Triennial
In 2010 the trans-form-it furniture collection was exhibited at ‘Moving Cities: Moving People: Moving Minds’ exhibition at Unlimited Asia Pacific Design triennial in Brisbane. This collaboration with Architectus, Inkahoots, Queensland College of Art Master of Design Futures Program explored new designing in a future or changing climate conditions. The trans-form-it concept of furniture-in-a-box was a practical response to issues of mobility and storage.
2010 Scope of Hope
Making of drums for visiting East Timorese musicians for ‘Scope of Hope’ concert organised by Griffith University Queensland College of Art and Prof Tony Fry, at QPAC.

Travelling exhibition by Logan City Art Gallery Mod Squad: contemporary design + objects, featuring Antero chair and artist talk in Logan and Cairns.

2007 Mentoring
Mentoring of emerging designer Jenni Baxter for design of Soundscape Furniture concept. I assisted Jenni with the concept development and design-for-manufacture of the piece.
